The Royal Report: Black History Month Power, Fresno 2026 Voter Guide, & Unleashing the Fire Horse

Welcome back to the Lounge, Darlings!

We have officially crossed the threshold into February. The vibe has shifted, the stakes are higher, and the energy is potent. This isn’t just another month on the calendar; it is a portal. We are standing at the intersection of Black history, crucial political maneuvering here in the Central Valley, and a massive cosmic shift into the Year of the Fire Horse.

If you thought January was a lot, buckle up. Pour yourself something strong (coffee or otherwise), and let’s get into the tea.

The Crown: Honoring Black History Month

It is February, which means we are celebrating Black History Month with our full chests.

As a Black queer queen standing here in Fresno, this month is sacred. We are honoring the disruptors, the divas, and the dreamers who built the culture we thrive in today—often without credit, and usually under duress.

But honey, listen to me closely: celebration isn’t just about posting a quote from Maya Angelou on your Instagram story and calling it a day. It’s about understanding that Black history is currently happening. It’s about staying informed, supporting Black art, patronizing Black businesses here in the 559, and securing our future through direct action.

Fresno & California 2026 Election Guide

Celebrating Black History Month and Lunar New Year 2026.

Listen to me closely, because this is the most important part of this newsletter: 2026 is a massive midterm election year.

We are not just watching from the sidelines; we are participating. If you want local representatives who actually listen to the queer community in the Central Valley, you need to be ready.

Mark Your Calendars: The California Statewide Primary Election is June 2, 2026.

Do not wait until you’re in full drag running to the polls five minutes before they close. Get ready now.

Your Fresno Voter Schedule:

The Deadline: You have until May 18, 2026, to register to vote for the primary. Check your status today at the California Secretary of State website.

May 4: Vote-by-mail ballots start hitting mailboxes

May 5: Ballot drop-off locations open throughout Fresno County

May 23: Vote centers open for early in-person voting.

The filing window is open for candidates here in Fresno. There are open seats, meaning new representation is possible. If you’ve ever thought about supporting a progressive candidate—do it now.

Don’t Miss a Beat, Diva.

Politics moves fast, but The Queens Lounge moves faster. Ensure you never miss a voter deadline or a local cultural event.

Birthday Icons

February is absolutely stacked with legends. We are lighting candles for:

Langston Hughes (Feb 1): The voice of the Harlem Renaissance.

Rosa Parks (Feb 4): The mother of the movement.

Bob Marley (Feb 6): The rhythm of revolution

Audre Lorde (Feb 18): Black, lesbian, mother, warrior, poet. Read her work this month!

Rihanna (Feb 20): Our Bajan billionaire queen.

Lunar New Year: Enter the Fire Horse

While the official Lunar New Year date is Feb 17, 2026, the energy is already shifting drastically. We are saying goodbye to the Wood Snake and moving into the Year of the Fire Horse.

This energy hasn’t been around since 1966! It is untethered, passionate, fast, and a little chaotic. It’s “Wild Child” energy. This is the year to stop overthinking and take that quantum leap you’ve been dreaming about.

February Metaphysics

Zodiac Season: We start in Aquarius (the visionary rebel—very appropriate for BHM) and shift into Pisces (the mystic dreamer) on the 19th.

Crystal of the Month: Amethyst. Keep it close for clarity, sobriety, and protection from negative vibes while navigating this Fire Horse energy.

Stay Royal, Stay Read, and Go Register to Vote.

With Love and Lashes,

Cerinass Willdohim

Ms. Fresno 2025
