Lady Liberty’s Story Comes to life

The Statue of Liberty, a gift from France, stands as a universal symbol of freedom and democracy. She holds a torch, representing enlightenment, and a tablet inscribed with July 4, 1776, marking American Independence. Crucially, at her feet lie broken shackles and chains, symbolizing the abolishment of slavery and liberation from all forms of oppression.

The U.S. government, through its founding documents like the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution’s Preamble, promises its people unalienable rights including “Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness,” and aims to “establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity”

Question to the public, have the US Government upheald their promise?
